The host device firmware then checks the memory of the transceiver for the correct information to confirm compatibility. Is compatibility guaranteed?Yes, TXM compatible transceivers guarantee the compatibility of the modules against the host device which they are programmed for. Why is my compatible SFP not working with my host device?This is a common problem, many host devices do not have a firmware check for compatibility, which is known as an open platform. Many transceivers are sold as compatible when in fact they are open platform, they will work in many host devices but not in any that require coded transceivers. Our TXM transceivers are specifically coded to suit each host device to avoid this problem. Is it possible to get extended distances on any host devices?Yes, the laser performance is controlled by the transceivers themselves and do not need any additional assistance from the host device to operate at extended distances. Is DDM capability offered with compatible transceivers?Yes, our TXM transceivers can be ordered with DDM/DOM/DMI (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring) built in.
